Outlink

In collaboration with the Kerby Centre, Outlink invites older adults 50+ who identify as an 2SLGBTQ+ community member or ally to join us for friendly conversation in a safe, supportive, and welcoming online environment.

 

This meetup is intended as a space for casual connection, reminding us that we do not need to be socially distant even while practicing physical distancing. This is not a structured therapy group nor is it a dating space. If you are looking for further support, Outlink staff are available to meet with you one-on-one or in small groups by phone, text-based messaging, or video call upon request. They can also help connect you to other counseling and support services.

We are holding both in-person meetings at the CommunityWise Resource Centre, and online meetings each month! Please see our Community Calendar​ to see which meetings will be held in-person.

For in-person meetings, we will be meeting in the CommunityWise Common Room, located on the main floor (please see below for COVID-19 restrictions). The building is located at 223 12 Ave SW. There is street parking outside the building. The closest LRT stations are 3rd Street and 1st Street stations.

Online meetings are held through Zoom, an online platform that supports audio, video, and text based communication.

If you are not familiar with the platform, please feel free to send us an email or call us and we can walk through it with you.

Please note that this meeting is moderated by Outlink and Kerby Centre staff and volunteers who reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is in violation of our Safer Space Ground Rules.

COVID SAFETY:

 

Public health and safety of our communities is very important to us! The following safety practices are put in place for our in-person programming:

 

• Group facilitators are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

• Masks are highly encouraged in the building.

• The room has a capacity of 30 people (including 2 facilitators).

• If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19 (ex. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose), please do not attend.
