In 1984, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals in our community came together to create a space where we could provide one another with the information, support, and community that we needed to be the fabulous, diverse and vibrant bunch we are. For more than 40 years, Outlink members have worked to make Calgary a more connected city for individuals across all spectrums of gender and sexual diversity.

Membership fee
Membership is a recommended $20 donation, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please use our donation form following the submission of your membership application if you would like to contribute financially to support Outlink's work.

A note on membership letters
Please note that we do not issue physical cards or membership letters. Upon completing the form, you will be sent an email confirming that you are registered in our records. If you subscribed to our newsletter, you will receive those communications by email.

For those looking for membership letters in relation to an immigration or refugee claim, Outlink is unable to provide those letters. Similarly, we do not issue letters of support.
​
Such letters are not permissible evidence that can be used in a claim. In Canada, status as an LGBTQ+ person is self-declared. This means that support letters or letters of membership are not meaningful evidence in a hearing. There is no way to "prove" one's sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) when we use the principle of self-declaration.

What a judge is looking for is evidence that it would be unsafe to return to the claimant's home country. Case-specific evidence would be required to prove this. We recommend claimants seek legal counsel to collaborate on building a case with permissible evidence.
