Community Resource Room: some of us have a hard time accepting ourselves because of a lack of exposure to people like us in mainstream society, in school or in the media. Our resource room provides a safe community space where people can check out books from our library, have internet access without judgement, meet new people and get support. The library contains access to LGBTTIQQ2SAA fiction, non-fiction, history, poetry, resources for friends, family and service providers, and much more. The resource room is always in need of volunteers because it is peer run.
Programs: Calgary Outlink offers community events, volunteer opportunities, and peer support groups for youth and adult members of the LGBTTIQQ2SAA community from diverse backgrounds. Support groups are facilitated by dedicated and trained volunteers from the community.
Out-Is-OK: This phone line is open 5:00 pm-10:00 pm everyday. call for peer support, information, and referrals from anywhere in Alberta by dialing 1-877-OUT-IS-OK (688-4765). The Out-Is-OK line is not a crisis or suicide intervention line. If you are in a crisis, please call the Calgary Distress Centre for 24/7 support at 403-266-HELP.
